Beware of MochaHost.com

I want to share my experience with MochaHost.com so the community can make an informed decision:

I started a small web design business and over the last 3 months developed about 60 web sites using .NET and some PHP. I purchased one of their reseller plans to allow me to host my sites I developed. After 3 months of dealing with all their problems.. They decide to tell me that “my sites are using too much CPU and my account will be canceled in 24 hours, Have a Nice Day”. So they basically destroyed my business in 1 sweep. I know my sites don’t use any CPU or memory as they are all small sites with very little traffic and do not do anything that would be memory or CPU intensive. If it truly was a CPU issue, all sites are setup as isolated application pools and they could just tell me which one is causing the problem. They then say you can upgrade your account to avoid it being canceled. Of course its more money. Many reviews on other sites have this behavior of MochaHost in common. It smells of some type of scam to me…

Not withstanding that little detail above, The hosting uptime is terrible in my experience… If you want to call it uptime as there is very little of it. I have independent uptime stats for the last 3 months of over 60 web sites hosted at this host, they have been down over 145 times during just 3 months. Many of those times are for extensive lengths of time confirmed at multiple locations. When approached about this they say they only use their own internal uptime stats that say everything is at 100% uptime. They do not trust Alertra results. Give me a break!

Their entire platform is flawed and full of bugs and problems. They will eventually say that the control panels they use are full of bugs and they are working with the vendors to correct it and that is the reason for all the problems… It never gets corrected obviousely and the vendors like the world known Cpanel and Plesk know of no bugs in their software.

The customer support is non existent at best. I would actually rather them not respond to me then respond to me. Their responses when they come days later are idiotic, rude and ignorant and I’m being kind.. They only have a couple of agents that use different aliases when dealing with customers. They want you to think you are dealing with many people. Their Live chat they claim to have is automated with bots with canned responses. If they are human beings, I feel very bad for them. My advice is to stay far away from this host. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews on this company.. I wish I did before I signed up and entrusted them with my sites.

For proof of any of this and more info on just how bad they really are just PM me and I’ll provide the 15 pages of tickets with 10 tickets per page I had to create over 3 months and all their wonderful responses. It really is laughable if you can laugh as they destroy your business.

So as they say at Mochahost after they destroyed your business, Have a Nice Day! :angry::angry:
